Grespania opts for photovoltaic solar energy at its Moncófar plant.
Respect for the environment is one of Grespania's key values. Throughout its history, Grespania has been strongly committed to developing strategies aimed at minimizing the impact of its production processes on the environment.
Grespania has been a pioneer in the development of environmental sustainability policies and, true to this commitment, has installed photovoltaic solar panels on the roof of its plant in Moncófar, Castellón. This self-consumption of photovoltaic energy gets underway with an installation of 907 kWp, capable of generating 1.3 GWh of clean energy per year. This will cover more than 30% of the total energy consumption of the factory, leading to savings of 20% in the electricity bill, and thereby contributing to an annual reduction of 400 metric tons of CO2.
GRESPANIA AND ITS ENVIROMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
This initiative is part of the firm commitment to sustainability shown by the company, which has already launched other environmentally-friendly programmes, such as the installation of a water treatment system, the cogeneration plant that contributes to primary energy savings, or the zero waste concept in its wall tile factory .
ECO-FRIENDLY PRODUCTS
Grespania's range of products currently include floors (3.5 and 5.6 mm thick) that minimize the generation of waste during the execution of a project as they can be laid on top of the existing material, to wall tiles that purify the air around them (thanks to the application of its H&C product)
Also, the compounds that Grespania uses in the production of its products contain a high percentage of recycled material.
